YSI Foundation Awards Special $60K Anniversary Grant
to Columbia Riverkeeper
After reviewing over 200 submissions, the Columbia RiverKeeper organisation, was awarded a $60,000 grant from the YSI Foundation for its work in helping monitor water quality along the Columbia River - the Pacific Northwest's longest river. Since 2006 the group has observed a rise in temperature that has affected the survival rate of aquatic species, in particular salmon and steelhead. The grant is a one-time special award amount in honour of YSI's 60th anniversary.
