The user can choose between two versions of SQlab:

  • SQlab II with 10 input modules and

  • SQlab III with 11 input modules and a higher total sampling rate.

  • SQlab II provides a permanently installed pulse module to register speed / RPM data.

  • SQlab III is outfitted with a stable plastic frame which allows a mounting on the car seat via belt.

SQlab II / SQlab III: Common Features

  • Various user-specific measurement modules with integrated signal conditioning. Example:

  • Line/ICP® input, 2 or 6 channels /microphone input, 2 channels / charge input, 2 channels /
    strain-gauge input, 2 channels / CAN-bus module / HMS II - BHM III input /
AES - EBU input - output (HMS III) / analog output, 2 channel and much more.

  • Sampling rates may be set for each module via PC.

  • Sturdy, transportable system box:
    - that houses the modules
    - to accommodate the control electronics and to mount the notebook.

  • External power supply via PSH II power supply unit.

Features and Application

SQlab is a compact, mobile, multi-channel measurement system for the purpose of acoustical analyses, vibrational-engineering analyses and sound design. The SQlab enables the user to record mechanical vibrations as well as acoustic signals. This procedure allows the direct comparison of vibration and sound measurements and permit immediate inferences as to the sound quality and the underlying noise sources.  To be able to deal with all the commonly occurring tasks of measurement and analysis, a series of modules with various inputs and outputs is available. The respective measurement sensors may be connected directly to the available modules. SQlab has a matching input module for every sensor. A standard notebook PC serves to control the measurements and to analyse the measurement data directly. The analysis software ArtemiS enables the user to scrutinize noise and vibrational signals systematically within the time and frequency range. The individual channels and sensors can be easily set via a graphical user interface on the screen of the notebook.
