Innovative operating concept
ArtemiS introduces a completely new operating concept, making not only the analysis of individual measurements, but also entire measurement series, into a structured and transparent operation:
The user decides what is displayed on-screen:
The user configures which windows, tools, data files, diagrams, etc., are displayed. He is able to define button bars and hotkeys individually, thus matching the system to his own requirements. Using this concept, both maximum clarity and an extensively equipped analysis platform are achievable.
Everything that is required to complete a measurement series, from filter settings via analysis and statistical evaluation to data hardcopy as diagrams or measurement reports, can be defined once-only, individual filter or analysis methods being activated (or deactivated) by mouse click. Subsequently, these settings can be used for measurement, analysis and hardcopy output of as many measurements as required, all automatically: set once - measure x-times. A history window provides a protocol of all completed operations, thus allowing reconstruction of each individual measurement.
The software options are divided into five pools: Data pool, filter pool, analysis pool, statistics pool and destination pool.
Data pool: Measurement data for analysis are read in from the data pool, where also data recorded by a connected
front-end are copied over. In the data pool, measurement data are then clearly listed in three different planes: project plane, measurement plane and channel plane. From this list, the user can activate any number of complete measurements or merely individual channels from different measurements for further processing.
Filter/analysis/statistics pool: Measurement data are processed using what are designated as evaluation methods, i.e. using filters, analysis or statistics. Individual evaluation methods are loaded from extensive libraries. Next, method details, such as filters or analysis parameters, are defined in method-specific property windows. The user must then specify names for the evaluation methods defined and arrange them in a freely-configurable file structure.
Destination pool: The destination pool is to specify the output mode for measurement and analysis results. This can be by simple data export, graphic evaluation in a diagram or a complete measurement and analysis report.
ArtemiS allows project-oriented working:
Measurement series, evaluation methods and data output specifications are grouped in a project. The project manages access privileges of personnel involved in the project and protocols all software settings. All software settings and configuration of evaluation methods are defined specifically to the project and are loaded when the project is opened.
Aurally-equivalent analysis
ArtemiS asks you to listen:
Inclusion of human hearing in analysis is an excellent option in analysing and evaluating acoustic signals. HEAD acoustics has developed this method and can look back on extensive experience in aurally-equivalent analysis of acoustic signals.
ArtemiS naturally also provides the option of involving the user as listener in analysis. This is why acoustic playback of signals during analysis located in and controlled from the analysis pool. Acoustic playback means that measurement and analysis data are more than just sterile numbers in diagrams, hard to evaluate by visual means alone. Reliable statements about actual noise quality first become possible by applying the complex abilities of the human auditory apparatus, allowing conclusions to be reached about the sound properties of the measurement object under investigation. In this regard, it may be appropriate to evaluate vibration signals alongside acoustic signals using the human ear.
User-friendly software interfacing
ArtemiS is no loner:
ArtemiS provides state-of-the-art integration with MS office products. Data and analysis result exchange is not merely via export or import of data, but is controlled using ActiveX. This allows, for example, configuration of a full report in Word or a diagram in Excel, and results from ArtemiS are automatically formatted to these specifications. This allows detailed documentation and makes data evaluation easy, with the user being able to access all properties of the program packages used.
ArtemiS is cooperative:
ArtemiS operates with various databases. The database system used primarily is Access. Connection to a database allows user-friendly management of all projects and measurement series.
New technical properties
ArtemiS requires no special hardware environment: Operating ArtemiS requires no special DSP boards, its performance depends only on the capacity of the computer it runs on. ArtemiS thus allows problem-free installation on laptops and notebooks, thus becoming a mobile analysis system.
ArtemiS is a multichannel system: ArtemiS allows simultaneous processing of as many measurement channels as required, the number of channels in data collection depending only on which
front-end is used.
