Larson Davis Sound Level Meters & Analysers

Model 824 Sound Level Meter/Real Time Analyser

  PDF Datasheet | Request Info

  • The System 824 combines sound level meter and real-time analyzer capabilities in one small, rugged package. The instrument covers many important measuring functions in one user-friendly, hand-held design.

  • As functionality increases and size decreases, an advancement in user interface is required. The System 824 offers an uncomplicated user interface requiring a minimal number of key strokes to create a test setup tailored for an individual application. Pre-defined setups are built into the instrument but personalized setups are easily made via the icon-driven keypad or computer software.

  • With 1/1, 1/3 true digital octave analysis capabilities, or 400-line FFT, the System 824 is extremely flexible while designed for easy operation. The comfortable feel of the instrument with its light-weight design and rubberized grips makes using the System 824 even easier.

  • The System 824 features high speed data gathering and autostore for capturing transient events (RTA option). The time history record stores up to 38 different broadband and spectral parameters of your choice. For each interval period, the 824 stores six spectral Ln’s, RTA Leq, RTA Max or RTA Min (SSA). That's a lot of data!

  • Other easy-on-you features of the System 824 include a back-lit display and back-lit keys for use in low light conditions; intuitive Windows™ based software for ease of instrument measurement setup, download and viewing of measurement data, and integration with a favorite spreadsheet program. The System 824 can also print reports directly to a serial printer.

Options and Configurations
The System 824 presents a number of distinct virtual instrument options enabling you to select the mode best suited for your particular application.

VIRTUAL INSTRUMENT OPTIONS
ISM Integrating SLM measures LEQ, SEL, Min, Max, Peak, with all weights (A, C, Flat) and with all detectors (slow, fast, and impulse) simultaneously. Includes a high and low measuring range.

SSA Sound spectrum analyzer measures broadband SPL, LEQ, SEL, Min, Max, Peak, with all frequency weights (A, C, Flat) and with all detectors (slow, fast, impulse, peak and Leq) simultaneously plus 1/1 and 1/3 octave data stored in time and interval histories at storage rates as fast as 8 times per second. Included also are Ln data showing 6 Ln values, a graph of L1 through L99 (broadband), and spectral Lns.

LOG Logging SLM measures LEQ, SEL, TWA, Min, Max, Peak, with all weights (A, C, Flat) and with all detectors (slow, fast, and impulse) simultaneously. Includes time history, interval history, exceedance history, daily history, Ln percentiles, statistical data, exposure, and dual SLM (current and overall).

RTA Real-time analysis capability option with high speed (up to 2.5msec) spectral data gathering using 1/1 and 1/3 octave filters. Includes advanced triggering functions, Autostore ByTime, RT60, RC and NCB curves.

FFT 400-line FFT analysis with Hanning, rectangular, and flat-top windows. Bandwidths of 200 Hz, 500 Hz, 1 kHz, 2 kHz, 5 kHz, 10 kHz, and 20 kHz, count averaging (1 to 16,384), snapshot data storage, display zoom with a factor of 2, 4 or 8 and displays linear units or decibels.
