Atlas Weathering Simulation Systems
UV2000 UV Condensation Weathering Device
|
Features & Benefits
|
The UV2000 is an affordable UV condensation weathering device with improved test
result reproducibility and lower operating costs.
The Atlas UV2000 is the perfect screening device for testing the effects of the
sun's energy on your material easily and affordably. Innovative design features
improve test reproducibility and lower operating costs while testing coatings,
plastics, pigments, adhesives, textiles and other materials for their reaction
to UV light, temperature and moisture. The UV2000 meets or exceeds test
requirements for ASTM, DIN, ISO, JIS and many other industry standards and
requirements.
Fluorescent UV lamps, similar in mechanical and electrical characteristics to
those used for residential and commercial lighting, have been developed with
specific spectral distributions. These sources are incorporated into fluorescent
UV condensation devices such as the UV2000. These devices may be used in tests
that vary light/dark cycles, temperature, condensing humidity, water sprays and
irradiance control.
Tests using fluorescent lamps are useful for relative rank comparisons between
materials under specific conditions, but the comparison to service lifetime
performance or correlation to outdoor exposures may not be valid. The best use
of the UV lamps is for general screening tests, such as checking for gross
formulation errors with an artificially harsh exposure.
