Features & Benefits

  • Instruments to perform HDT, VICAT, bending CREEP, thermal dilation and thermal modulus tests on thermoplastic materials.

  • With six independent stations, the weights and station movements are fully controlled by microprocessor based on the test parameters inserted.

  • The microprocessor, with LCD, acts as operator interface for test set up and results.

  • As an option, the instrument can be connected to PC and controlled using the dedicated VisualTHERM software.

  • The instrument has six independent working stations, each with its own linear LVDT transducer. Each station is equipped with a thermo-resistance to record the local temperature.

  • Maximum test temperature in air: 300°C.

  • Maximum test temperature under nitrogen gas blanket: 375°C.

  • The “PLUS” version automatically regulates the nitrogen gas flow.

  • Meets ISO, ASTM, DIN, ANFOR and other standards.

CEAST program for measuring of the thermal properties of materials include a wide range of instruments and with particular reference to the determination of the HDT (heat deflection temperature) and the Vicat softening temperature, CEAST is proposing a new generation of instruments, oil free, able to test materials at temperatures up to 500°C. These instruments (Vicat 500-D, HDT Vicat 500 Aloxide) were designed to meet the growing demand for testing on the new advanced high performances materials appeared on the market (i.e. PEEK).
