Features & Benefits

  • Low energy impact pendulum for determining the resilience of materials following the IZOD, CHARPY (bars/pipes), DYNSTAT, and TENSILE IMPACT test methods (ISO, ASTM, and others).

  • The potential energy available for test ranges from 0.5 J to 5.5 J. A “soft-touch” keyboard and multi-lingual display allows the operator to insert all test parameters and specimen data.

  • An immediate read-out of resilience is possible.

  • Through connection via a serial port the instrument can be connected to a PC for data collection and statistical evaluations using our Ceast dedicated software.

  • Meets ISO, ASTM, DIN, BS and other standards.

  • The instrument is supplied with sturdy safety shields (not shown in the picture for clarity).

CEAST is proposing a wide range of instruments designed to determine the mechanical and physical properties of polymers, composites and finished products for both research and development (R&D) and quality control (QC). The pendulum family was designed in order to perform Charpy, Izod and Tensile impact testing on material specimens according to international standards. It’s possible to choose between not instrumented testing, for the calculation of the resilience, and instrumented testing thus allowing a more complete investigation on the properties of the material which can show a brittle or a ductile behaviour also depending on the test conditions (i.e. temperature).

Furthermore CEAST is proposing a new advanced high energy falling weight instrument suitable for testing on standard specimens and finished products with maximum impact energy up to 1800 J and maximum impact speed up to 24 m/s. CEAST is also proposing other instruments for testing on pipes, for creep and fatigue evaluations.
