Features & Benefits

  • Capillary Rheometers, either single or twin bore, to meet the requirements of
research and quality laboratories for thermoplastic polymers, compounds and
    composites.

  • PC-controlled using dedicated software VisualRHEO under the CEASTView
    platform (included).

  • Tests can be performed with constant shear rate and constant speed steps.

  • The data obtained from each of the barrels of a twin bore unit can be handled as independent tests.

  • Particular advantages of the Twin Bore hardware configuration are the possibility to get from a single test: two measurements with identical test parameters (for comparative purposes), measurements with two dies having same diameter but different lengths (for automatic Bagley correction), or even two independent different measurements.

  • Optional equipments, with dedicated software and available for all models, include: melt stretching unit, die swell, slit dies, pvT (pressure-volume-temperature diagram), and others.

  • The Rheologic series can exert up to 50 kN force (depending on the model), with a piston speed ratio of 1:100000 (from 0.01 to 1000 mm/min).

  • The operational temperature interval is 50C to 450C, controlled by two Pt-100 sensors.

  • Pressure transducers are available from 3.5 to 200 MPa.

  • Single-bore and twin-bore barrels are available with diameters of 9.55, 12, 15 and 20 mm.

  • The barrel working length is 290 mm with the capillary entrance at constant distance from pressure transducers.

  • Special barrel for chemically aggressive materials available.

  • Meets ISO 11443, ASTM D3835, and equivalent standards.

CEAST product range for rheological investigation on polymers include several instrument and in particular a Modular Line of Melt Indexer, specifically designed for the easy and accurate measuring of the Melt Flow Rate (MFR) and Melt Volume Rate (MVR), fundamental properties of any thermoplastic material. For a more complete characterization of the rheological behaviour of materials CEAST is proposing a complete line of Capillary Rheometers, a floor model and also a new advanced bench top series specifically designed for R&D, process evaluations (injection moulding, extrusion, blow moulding) but also for acceptance Quality Control on the incoming materials.
