This instrument is designed for performing flammability tests of plastic materials and foams used for parts in equipment and appliances. The results obtained are a preliminary indication of the material’s suitability with respect to flammability for a particular application. Also, information other important characteristics in the end-use application can be obtained such as ease of ignition, burning rate, flame spread, intensity of burning, and products of combustion.
