Paroscientific Precision Pressure Instrumentation

The Next Generation of Meteorological Systems MET4 and Fan-Aspirated MET4A

These new instruments replace the MET 3 and MET3A. The MET4/4A incorporate several enhancements and features that are a direct result of field experience and inputs from industry users.

The major enhancements and features include:

  • Improved field serviceability-New high reliability temperature and humidity probe that is field replaceable. In addition, Paroscientific has provided a procedure to perform a verification of barometer accuracy in the field. Combined, these reduce instrument downtime and the need to return the equipment to Paroscientific for service.

  • MET4A fan has increased air flow for greater protection against harsh environments. A field replacement kit is available.

  • RS-232 and RS-485 bi-directional interfaces.

  • Optional Barometric Functions including field pressure, station pressure, altimeter setting, sea-level pressure, density altitude, pressure altitude, QNH & QFE and WMO pressure tendency codes.

  • Optional Internal Data Logger capable of storing over 200,000 high resolution time stamped, pressure, temperature and humidity records.

  • New environmental enclosures and marine paint for both the MET4 and MET4A.

  • “DigiPort” High Performance Pressure Port is now featured on the MET4.

  • Compatible with Model 715 Remote LCD Display.

  • Both the MET4 and MET4A are CE compliant

The MET4 and fan-aspirated MET4A Meteorological Measurement Systems provide high accuracy data from barometric pressure, temperature, and relative humidity sensors. Pressure resolution is better than 1 microbar with a total accuracy of better than ±0.08 hPa over the extended barometric range of 500 to 1100 hPa. Temperature resolution is better than 0.01 degrees C.

These fully-integrated systems are housed in environmental enclosures allowing indoor or outdoor mounting. Installation hardware and software are included and optional interface cabling is available. The MET4 solar radiation shield protects the temperature and humidity sensors from precipitation and solar radiation. Both the MET4 and fan-aspirated MET4A utilize a high performance pressure port to reduce dynamic pressure errors caused by wind.
