  • WORKS LIKE AN ULTRASONIC MICROSCOPE A SPECIALIZED MODULE TO HELP LOCATE LOW LEVEL LEAKS

  • The CFM-2 (CFM-9) is easily plugged into the Ultraprobe and is an ideal accessory for vacuum leak applications such as:

  • Composite Vacuum Bagging

  • Vacuum Furnaces

  • Distillation Columns

  • Condenser Leaks

  • Heat Exchangers

UE Systems' CFM-2 (CFM-9) Close Focus Leak Module enhances the ultrasound of leaks. A totally new design, the CFM-2 (CFM-9) utilizes a uniquely shaped receiving chamber that resembles the intake port of a jet engine. The shape enhances the turbulent flow of a pressure or vacuum leak when closer than 2" (5cm) and enables users to locate minute leaks that might otherwise go undetected.

Low level leaks are low amplitude ultrasound emitters. When traditional scanning methods prove difficult, the CFM-2 (CFM-9) is a handy accessory. The design of the module has two functions:

The front end acts as a sonic collector to bring in the subtle leak sound without losing any acoustic energy.

The middle section of the module helps direct the low level signal directly to the apex of the transducer where the signal is amplified and sent to the main unit for additional amplification.

Designed for close focus, the CFM-2 (CFM-9) is ideal for vacuum leak detection. Since the turbulent flow generated by a vacuum leak is internal, the sound intensity of that leak will tend to be low. By scanning close to the surface of a suspected leak area, the CFM-2 (CFM-9) will magnify the leak sound to a level where a user can not only hear but pinpoint the leak site.
