  • LIQUID LEAK AMPLIFICATION

  • For extremely low level leaks (ranging from 1 x 10-3 to 1 x 10-6 std. ml/sec) when minimal turbulence is produced, UE recommends its patented LLA method. LLA (Liquid Leak Amplifier) is an ultrasonic "bubble" test method. LLA is a liquid with a low surface tension. Faster and more reliable than classic bubbles tests, LLA has two basic advantages:

  • Bubbles do not have to be seen for leak detection. As bubbles form and collapse they produce strong ultrasonic signals which are easily detected by the Ultraprobe.

  • Bubbles form and collapse almost instantly so waiting time for bubbles in low level leaks is markedly reduced. (Optional)

Ultrasonic leak detection capability has been markedly increased with UE SYSTEMS' LIQUID LEAK AMPLIFIER. This unique formulation* enables users to pinpoint leakage that would normally be beyond threshold capabilities of ultrasonic sensors.

LLA is a liquid that is poured over a leak test area. Unlike commonly available test solutions which form bubbles slowly on low level leaks, LLA will begin to create minute bubbles on low level leaks, LLA will begin to create minute bubbles which collapse as soon as a trace of escaping gas hits it. The collapse will create an ultrasonic shock wave which will be registered by an ultrasonic sensor.

LLA has these advantages over common bubble test solutions:

Reported test results consistently demonstrate LLA capable of locating leaks with rates as low as 1 x 10-6 std. ml/sec/

LLA can be used with all types of gases.
