Conventional Data acquisition systems require that each measurement channel have a cable that runs from the sensor to the system for A/D signal conversion and central processing. Generally, these are relatively long runs of expensive low-noise cable that often get tangled and confusing. DSITs eliminate these problems!

DSS System
It is an advanced multi-channel test and measurement platform that can measure and store digital waveforms and spectra (depending on modules used) and also output a variety of analog test signals to drive speakers and shakers for system testing. Its exceptional technical specifications are ideal for the demands of sound and vibration measurement.

Applications Include:

  • Sound power measurement

  • Structural dynamic/modal analysis measurement

  • Near field acoustic holography

  • Production line quality control testing

  • Building vibration measurement

  • Seismic testing

  • Vehicle and engine noise

DSIT Technology

A DSIT (Digital Sensor Interface Transmitter) is a small interface module that provides the analog to digital interface between a sensor and the DSS unit (chassis and modules). THE DSIT converts the analog signal from the sensor to a digital signal that is then transmitted to the DSS. Using DSIT technology, 24-bit a-D sampling takes place near the sensor using small interface modules (DSITs) that are clamped onto a low-cost ribbon cable.
The use of DSIT Technology benefits you by:

  • Decreasing cable costs dramatically! Cable setup is greatly simplified! ONE ribbon cable is capable of transmitting the sampled data from up to thiry-two channels to Receiver Modules in the chassis.

  • Eliminating crosstalk and distortion as the signals being transmitted are digital.

  • DSS and DSITs support TEDS (Transducer Electronic Data Sheet), so specifications and sensitivity values for all TEDs equipped sensors can be automatically read into the DSS to simplify setup.

  • Each DSIT has an LED which can be turned on from the DSS. This permits the user to visually verify the placement on the test structure of the DSIT associated with any particular DSS measurement channel.
